WHAT IS NEUROFEEDBACK?

Neurofeedback is a non-invasive computer feedback-based treatment, which involves your brain learning self-regulation to work more effectively. It is often referred to as brain training.

WHAT IS THE LENGTH OF OVERALL TREATMENT?

It is generally a short-term treatment, lasting approximately 12-30 sessions that occur 2 times a week.

WHAT IS THE AVERAGE SESSION LENGTH?

Average session length is about 45-50 minutes.

WHAT HAPPENS AT THE FIRST SESSION OF NEUROFEEDBACK?

Typically, your first session will be an intake assessment, during which we would gather some background information and ask you to complete several intake questionnaires. Towards the end of the initial session, we would collaboratively decide whether neurofeedback would be a helpful treatment for you to pursue.

WHAT DOES A TYPICAL NEUROFEEDBACK SESSION LOOK LIKE?

You sit comfortably in a chair with electrode sensors on your scalp that are reading your brainwaves. The software will produce images and sounds as moment-to-moment feedback allowing you to gain more awareness and control over your physiological functioning.
